Value From Pick Applet Not Populating To Record Upon Creation

Information in this document applies to any platform.
Value from pick applet not was populating to the parent applet when creating a new record.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log into the Call Center application
2. Navigate to a custom screen
3. Create a new record
4. Click SSN field to bring up a pick applet
5. Pick a record that has value for the custom UID field
6. In the parent applet, the UID field value doesn't show up
