Calendar Control - First Day Of Week not displayed correctly for Siebel Thick non-ENU Clients (Dedicated and Mobile Web Clients) (Doc ID 2626766.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 14, 2020

Applies to:

Siebel Pharma - Version 16.18 [IP2016] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Siebel Client  Functionality - on version: 16.18 [IP2016]

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Calendar First Day of Week for Siebel Thick Client users is displayed incorrectly

On a Siebel installation for ESN language, it was set to start week in Calendar control on Monday(= Lunes).
The same was defined for ESN in Regional Settings at OS level.
But for Mobile or Dedicated Client users, it continues to show Calendar starting on Sunday (=Do).

Similar behaviour could be seen for other non-ENU Clients - i.e. DEU, FRA etc

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Under normal circumstances, it would be expected to see the Regional setting definition being applied consistently also for the Mobile or Dedicated Clients.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will in Customer's environment with the following steps:
1. Make the required Locale changes for that language (ESN) - on server-side;
2. Run required tasks initializing the Local DBF(s) for an user (for Local DBF) or use Dedicated mode (connecting to Server Data Source);
3. Check and compare the Calendar control behaviour on Mobile / Dedicated Web Client vs. Server session for same records (i.e. Activity).

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
Due to this issue, Mobile or Dedicated Client users may select the wrong dates from the Calendar control.
This is a minor usability issue as data could still be entered - but it would require additional attention from end-users to ensure that dates added/changed are correct.
