Siebel Merge Functionality Question

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When merging records in Siebel, a dialog box opens to confirm the merge.
The text of the confirmation says:
The n selected record(s) will be merged into [field name] = [field value].
Proceed to merge?
Notice that the field name used to identify the surviving record is not always the same depending on the objects to merge.
Requirement is to implement merge functionality on 3 BCs:
Account, Contact and a custom BC.
For Account, the field name used is Name.
For Contact, it is Person UId.
For Custom BC, the field name is left blank.
How to specify / configure field(s) to use in the Merge functionality to identify the surviving record?
