siebeljbs_1.log For Outbound REST Call Shows Strange Characters Instead Of The Actual Japanese Characters (Doc ID 2643678.1)

When using Siebel application to send an outbound REST call to an external system with Japanese characters, the outbound request does correctly send the Japanese characters to the external system.

However, the Siebel application side's siebeljbs_1.log that captures the outbound payload information does not show the Japanese characters, it shows the characters like these instead:

Since the siebeljbs_1.log characters does not match what is being sent outbound and the siebeljbs_1.log is used for troubleshooting/debugging, it is difficult to confirm what the actual content is that Siebel is sending out when the characters in the siebeljbs_1.log are displayed this way.
