Display Recommendation Constraint with Explanation Having Single Quote Throws JS Error (Doc ID 2649023.1)

Last updated on JULY 21, 2021

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 19.9 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The following behavior was reported on 19.9 siebel version, Order Management module.

When using a "Display recommendation" constraint and then set an explanation message having a single quote in its text (this is very typical case in French language),  then when this constraint is fired and tries to display the message explanation, a JS error is thrown

e.g. Syntax error, unrecognized expression [id]='1'Euclide']

The behavior was reproduced internally using steps:

1) Create a customizable product having an 'Att_Color' attribute that can have Green value

2) Add a "Display recommendation" constraint which displays message "l'Euclide" when 'Att_Color' is set to Green

3) Validate this product

4) Select 'Green' value from 'Att_Color' combo box attribute

5) Open console, and JavaScript error appears:  Syntax error, unrecognized expression [id]='1'Euclide']
