Inbound REST Duplicates Some Requests and Remove Others Leading to Both Duplicate Data and Missing Data in the Database (Doc ID 2652185.1)

Symptoms

When load testing any Inbound REST service to create records, notice some records are duplicate whilst others are missing.

There should be no missing, nor duplicate data.

The issue can be replicated at will with these steps:

Create a load test to invoke an Inbound REST service to create Service Request records.

Ensure the load test stores a sequential number in the SR description field.

Run 2 load tests in parallel, each starting with a different sequence number.

e.g

Load test #1 creates records 100000, 100001, 100002....

Load Test #2 creates records 200000, 200001, 200002...

Run both in parallel for about 1 hour.

Notice at some point you will have duplicate numbers. e.g 100504 will appear twice from load test #1 whilst 100505 will be missing.

This happens because 100505 was overwritten with a copy of 100504
