Microsoft has announced that is retiring Basic Authentication for Exchange Online services as part of Microsoft Modern Authentication strategy, here is latest updates from Microsoft about it:

Basic Authentication Deprecation in Exchange Online – September 2022 Update - Customers have opt-out or re-enablement option to continue to use Basic Authentication until the end of December 2022.
