Script Is Getting Overwritten Despite Selecting Merge Option

Symptoms
The script is getting Overwritten despite selecting the Merge option.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open Siebel Tools
2. Query for the object in question
3. Export it to an Archive
4. Right-click on it and select Edit Server Script
5. Add demo code and save it
6. Import the SIF from point #3 to the same Repository
7. Merge Option is selected to avoid any deletion > Post Import of Archive SIF showing what attributes will be updated
8. After the import is finished, check for the script > it is showing the new line as deleted despite selecting Merge
