Siebel Email Response Stops Working with JRE Version 1.8.0_261 (8u261), Internet SMTP/POP3 or IMAP Server Driver Fails to Initialize Java Virtual Machine (Doc ID 2702191.1)

Symptoms

After upgrade to Java Runtime Environment (JRE) on Siebel Server running Communication Inbound Receiver component to JRE 1.8.0_261 (8u261), the Internet SMTP/IMAP Server driver stop pulling email from the mail boxes.

The following error can be observed in IMAPSMTP_xxx_xXx_xxxx_xxx.log in Siebel Server log folder for the driver instance:

The behavior can be reproduce at will with following configuration:

1) Enable eMail Response module with IMAP or POP3 using JavaMail.

2) On the EMRJavaSubys at Site Map> Administration - Server Configuration> Profiles Configuration> search for Profile = EMRJavaSubsys

3) Check parameter "JVM DLL Name" and set it to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_261\bin\client\jvm.dll"

4) Restart the Communications Inbound Receiver component

5) Verify the IMAPSMTP or POP3SMTP log files generated for CommInboundRcvr pulling emails from the mail box, the error above can be observed.

 

Changes

Update JRE used by Internet SMTP/POP3 or IMAP Server driver to JRE version 1.8.0_261 or JRE 8u261
