Entity Survivorship Rules On Child Objects Are Not Invoked If There Are 2 Rules On Same Child Object But With Different Parent Objects (Doc ID 2722721.1)

Last updated on JULY 21, 2021

Applies to:

Siebel Universal Customer Master - Version 20.6 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Siebel UCM is not invoking Entity Survivorship Rules for the child object if there are 2 rules with same child object but each rule having a different parent object. As a result, UCM Survivorship is applied only to the parent records.

For example consider the below Entity Survivorship Rules

Name Object Name Parent Object Name Status Default Criteria
Contact Alternate Phone Ruleset Alternate Phone Contact Active Recent
Account Alternate Phone Rule Set Alternate Phone Account Active Recent
Account CUTAddress Ruleset CUT Address Account Active Recent
Contact Personal Address Ruleset Personal Address Contact Active Recent

 In the above scenario:

a. Only the Entity Survivorship Rule "Contact Alternate Phone Ruleset" is invoked for the "Alternate Phone" child object, where the "Alternate Phone" child object has multiple active rulesets.

b. However, all the other rulesets, whether they have the same child "Alternate Phone" object or not, are also ignored and not loaded.
