How To Upgrade Oracle Self Service E-Billing Application From Version 6.0.3 To 7.1 (Doc ID 2731429.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 01, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Self Service E-Billing Business Edition - Version 6.0.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

1. Does the application need to be upgraded stage-wise, from one version to another, such as from 6.0.3 -> 6.0.4 -> 6.1 -> 6.2 -> 7.0 -> 7.1? Or, is it possible to directly upgrade from 6.0.3 to 7.1?

2. Is it required to upgrade the database also from 11.2.0.3 (HP-UX) to 12.1.0.2 (Linux)? Should the cross-platform approach be followed once the application is migrated to 7.1? Or, does it need to be done before the application upgrade?

3. Please confirm whether the following step sequence is the one to be used for the intended migration?

Current Application Server - RHEL 5.5, eBilling version 6.0.3, Weblogic version 10.3.2
Current Database Server - HP-UX vB.11.31, Database release 11.2.0.1 (OLAP, OLTP)

Future Application Server - RHEL 7.8, eBilling version 7.1, Weblogic version 12.2.1
Future Database Server - RHEL 7.8, Database release 12.1.0.2 (OLTP) + ODI Repository
