Workflow Monitor Instance Monitor Records Not Created After Increase Monitor Level Or Keep Generating After Decrease Monitor Level After Siebel CRM 20.7 And Higher (Doc ID 2767917.1)

Symptoms

Workflow Monitor Instance records not getting created after increase Monitor Level to 3 or 4 sporadically. Error can be seen in the Log: "SBL-BPR-00236: A Workflow Monitor Definition Level was not found".

Similar behavior also can be observed when decrease the Monitor Level to 0, sporadically the Workflow Monitor Instance records keep getting created.

It is required to re-start the component for the Workflow Instance Monitor changes take effect sometimes and error message is not seen after that.

On Siebel CRM 20.6 and previous version this behavior is not observed and changes to workflow instance monitor always take effect immediately all the time.

The following scenario were observed:


Scenario A)

1) User A login to Siebel Object Manager and execute workflow ABC

2) User B login to Siebel Oject Manager and increase the Monitor Level to 4

3) User B execute workflow ABC

4) User B go to Site Map > Administration - Business Process > Workflow Instance Monitor and identify the workflow ABC for this workspace version of MAIN and can see the workflow instance and steps records as expected.

5) User A execute again the workflow ABC, but when navigating to Workflow Instance Monitor he can only see the records of User B execution.

 

Scenario B)

1) User A login to Siebel Object Manager and execute workflow ABC

2) User A logout from Siebel and later login back

3) User A increase Monitor Level for workflow ABC and executed workflowABC

4) User A go to Site Map > Administration - Business Process > Workflow Instance Monitor and identify the workflow ABC for this workspace version of MAIN, but he can NOT see any records been create for this execution

 

Scenario C)

1) Batch Component Workflow Process Manager is executing workflow ABC

2) User A login to Siebel Object Manager for increase workflow Monitor Level to 4

3) User A execute workflow ABC on Siebel Object Manager to confirm Monitor Level is increased

4) User A go to Site Map > Administration - Business Process > Workflow Instance Monitor and identify the workflow ABC for this workspace version of MAIN, and can see the workflow instance and steps records as expected.

5) User A make sure the Batch Component Workflow Process Manager executes again workflow ABC.

6) User A go to Site Map > Administration - Business Process > Workflow Instance Monitor and identify the workflow ABC for this workspace version of MAIN, but he can NOT see any records been create for this execution for troubleshooting.

 

Changes

 Siebel CRM Update 20.7 or later been applied
