Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When attempting to bring the Gateway Server, which is done by running the shell script start_ns located under gtwysrvr/bin directory, its execution completely hangs without progression.
This situation started after a hardware failure and redeployment on a new Solaris zone. No changes to Siebel configuration were introduced whatsoever.
When attempting to run list_ns shell script for testing purposes it also presents the same hanging issue.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to gtwysrvr directory
2. Run siebenv.sh to source the environment variables
3. Try to bring the gateway server up by running start_ns
4. The prompt is not returned and it simply hangs
