Oracle Database Client Is Installed For Each Siebel Component (Update 21.2). How Can They Be Uninstalled? (Doc ID 2772591.1)

On : 21.2 version, Installation

When Siebel 21.2 install media that is used to update the existing environment has "Oracle_Database_Client", it is always installed no matter what the target component is. As a result multiple Oracle_Database_Client can be installed.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1) Run setup.bat under Disk1\install folder.
2) Select the target folder, say E:\S17\ai for Application Interface.
3) Finish the installation.
4) There are contents under "E:\S17\ai\Oracle_Database_Client".
5) There is "odbc_ic_readme_win_seed.doc" under E:\S17\ai\Oracle_Database_Client\odbc\doc.

Uninstalling Instant Client ODBC

1. Execute odbc_uninstall.exe to uninstall the Oracle ODBC driver which is
  installed from Oracle Instant Client home. This will uninstall the Oracle
  ODBC driver from Windows ODBC Driver manager.

2. Delete all files and sub directories under Instant Client directory to
remove
  the Instant Client ODBC completely

6) There is no "odbc_uninstall.exe" anywhere under E:\S17\ai.
