Error: zookeeper_backup already exists After Applying 21.4 Update And Gateway Server Services Fails to Start (Doc ID 2787005.1)

Gateway service is failing to start after applying 21.4 update on Windows environment and the following error occurs in the UI:

The Siebel Gateway Name Server service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other service or programs.

Also following error is captured in cfgtoollogs:


2021-05-26 15:27:58 ERROR The directory D:\sba81\gtwysrvr\zookeeper_backup already exists. Unable to proceed the Siebel Gateway Registry upgrade. Make sure you delete or rename the D:\sba81\gtwysrvr\zookeeper_backup directory.


1. Apply Siebel 21.4 update on the top of 19.12
2. Try to start Siebel Gateway server services
