Tomcat process is crashing with the following error in the Java hotspot log:

# There is insufficient memory for the Java Runtime Environment to continue.
# Native memory allocation (malloc) failed to allocate 32744 bytes for ChunkPool::allocate

If the -XX:ErrorFile=file flag is not specified, the system attempts to create the Java hotspot error log in the working directory of the process. In the event that the file cannot be created in the working directory (insufficient space, permission problem, or other issue), the file is created in the temporary directory for the operating system.

On Solaris OS and Linux the temporary directory is /tmp.

The error log usually contains information obtained at the time of the fatal error, including the following information, where possible.
