Symptoms

Preventive Maintenance Engine takes a long time to complete.

In a scenario where 500 Assets are processed daily, for each asset 6 Service Requests are created, this process will run for 7 to 8 hours.

This is observed when PM Component Parameter "Mode" is set for 'Asset' or 'Id' (Please refer to Siebel Field Service Guide > Preventive Maintenance  > Parameters for the Preventive Maintenance Engine)

e.g:

Interval: 1
Valid Start: 0
Valid End: 2

Add Usage
Type: Cycle Counter
Interval: 1
Valid Start: 0
Valid End: 2

Add threshold:
Type: Cycle Counter

4) In the Products tab, add 1 Product and 1 Asset

5) Go to Actions and add an SR Template and Activity Templates
(SR Templates are created under Administration - Service > SR Templates)

6) Go back to Preventive Maintenance> Products and drilldown in Assets

7) Click in "Run PM" button
