"EAI XML Read from File" Returns Error "SBL-EAI-50175: Error reading from file" On 21.8 And Above (Doc ID 2831675.1)

Last updated on MAY 13, 2022

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 21.8 to 22.1 [Release V17]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After applying Siebel patchset 21.8 or above version, the "EAI XML Read from File" returns the error message "SBL-EAI-50175: Error reading from file" when it tries to read a file with inline base64 content with more than 100KB size.

The error message that occurs with this issue is:

The steps to reproduce the behaviour:

1. Create a custom functionality that will take incoming inline base64 data for file attachments and create Siebel attachment records and files into the Siebel FileSystem. This functionality is able to handle small incoming inline base64 data less than 100KB and also large incoming inline base64 data over 100KB.

Test this functionality on any Siebel version 21.7 and lower, the 'EAI XML Read from File' service with method 'ReadPropSet' works fine without any errors.

2. Apply the 21.8 and above to the Siebel environment and restart the Siebel server services.

3. Send the small inline base64 data with less than 100KB are still working - they are created as attachment records and files in the Siebel FileSystem.

4. Send in the larger inline base64 data with more than 100KB+, it is not longer working:

a. Larger files result in the above error message being generated/returned

b. The attachment record is not created in the Siebel application

c. The file is not created in the Siebel FileSystem.

Changes

The behaviour only occurs after applying patchset 21.8 and above, ie, applying any patchsets versions between 21.8 - 22.1.
