Updating to 21.1 Fails with Error in Writing to File '/usr/siebel/ses/dbsrvr/common/mstrep.dat' (Doc ID 2832904.1)

Symptoms

Installation of 21.1 patch over IP17 fails with error. The error is seen in Orainstall and InstallActions logs :


 installActions2021-12-01_08-37-36-AM.log

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Download 21.1 Siebel binaries
  2. Run the installation wizard
  3. An error occurs.
