Siebel Mobile - File Attachments Downloading in Same Tab on iPad Instead of New Tab and Losing Context of the Existing Siebel Session (Doc ID 2844815.1)

Symptoms



On a Test environment using iPad devices and accessing Siebel FINS Mobile application from a (Chrome) browser page, it was observed that:

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR: When accessing the a File attachment (i.e. PDF file ) in the Siebel application, the file is opening in the same browser tab instead of a new one.
This causes end-users to lose the current Siebel session context - as navigating 'Back' in browser forces them to re-login into Siebel.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR: Under normal circumstances, it would be expected to have all file attachments opening in a separate browser tab, allowing access to the Siebel application in the existing tab.

STEPS to replicate the problem:
1. Navigate to a Siebel view that includes attachment files (i.e. Attachments under Accounts or Contacts, BIP Reports - 'My Reports');
2. Click on one of listed files' hyperlink;
3. The file opens in same browser tab, not in a new one.
