Symptoms
After upgrade from Siebel IP16 to 21.12, getting Error ORA-01858 when use Siebel eScript to query with TO_DATE function on a Date Column in Siebel Application. ADODB connection is used and call ADODB methods to retrieve records.
Error:
"ORA-01858: a non-numeric character was found where a numeric was expected"
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Log into Siebel WebTools
2. Open/Create a workspace
3. Create a new Business Service with codes to retrieve a record set. Here is the code snippet
4. Log into Siebel client application
5. Navigate Administrator Business Service > Simulator to Simulate the Business Service
