Authentication Error Followed By Siebel Application Crash When LDAP Server Is Not Responding (Doc ID 2882309.1)

Symptoms

Siebel Application component enabled with LDAP Authentication is crashing continuously and users cannot login to the application.

Upon reviewing the $SIEBEL_ROOT/siebsrvr/BIN directory, call stacks and FDR files were seen.

The call stack showed below signature:

 

During the outage excessive core files were generated with above signature. The core file size was ~350 MB.

The affected component by crash was configured with LDAP Security Adaptor. Other components configured with Database Security Adaptor did not encountered crash, security or authentication errors.
