Siebel Database Upgrade Sends DB2 Z/OS Error -204 <database-name>.SIEBTS is an undefined name, While Creating The Stage Database – Default Tablespace Was Not Created (Doc ID 2889297.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 12, 2022

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 22.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Siebel DB2 Z/OS upgrade to version 22.1 generates sql CREATE TABLE %_TMP statements assigning them to tablespace SIEBTS, which does not exist in the stage database.

The following error is displayed while processing stage database data definition commands in z/os:

Sqlcode -204 <database-name>.SIEBTS is an undefined name

All tablespaces used to create tables should exist, i. e., a related CREATE TABLESPACE DDL sql for the tablespace should be executed first.

The following steps can be executed to reproduce the behavior (steps are simplified):

1. Generate stage database files.
2. Move the files (ftp) to the Z/OS mainframe.
3. Run the jobs to create the stage database objects. See details in Siebel Database Upgrade Guide for DB2 for Z/OS > Creating the Siebel Staging Database.
.
.
N. Submit job <Dataset-prefix>.SIEBEL.INSTALL.JCL(DMXSIA7) in Z/OS. The step which processes VSTG0119 job fails informing that SIEBTS tablespace does not exist.

Changes

Siebel Database upgrade being executed from IP13 in DB2 Z/OS  to Siebel 22.1.
