Test Upgrade Fails with Error in Ddlimp and "ORA-01187: cannot read from file error in upgwiz log" (Doc ID 2903583.1)

Symptoms

While performing test upgrade from Siebel 15.5 to 21.12, an error occurs during upgrep step.

Upgwiz logs show that the error happens during index creation step, while the ddlimp utility is being executed.

 

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Generate schema.ddl and custrep.dat from DEV environment upgrade.
  2. Copy them to UAT / QA  environment.
  3. Run DB configuration wizard choosing Production as environment type and Upgrade Siebel DB SChema ( upgrep and upgphys) as Upgrade options.                                        

 

Changes

 Upgrade from 15.5 to 21.12 Siebel release.
