Enabling AI Tomcat Compression Makes EAI Queue Attachments Unreadable (Doc ID 2934137.1)

Symptoms

After upgrading from IP2013 to 21.6 version, if the Compression is enabled on AI, it makes the EAI queue attachments unreadable when downloaded from Call Center.

Removing the parameter - compression="on" - from the AI's server.xml, makes the attachments readable again.

The expectation is to be able to enable and use compression for the AI application container but at the same time download EAI attachments in a readable format.

The issue can be reproduced at will in that environment with the following steps:

1. In AI server.xml file - ensure that compression is enabled ( compression="on" ) for that connector.

Sample server.xml: 


2. Log in to Call Center, navigate to Site Map -> Integration Administration -> EAI queue and download an attachment and open it in your local computer and notice it is not readable.

3. Edit server.xml and switch that to compression="off" - or remove that line and restart AI.

4. Log in to Call Center, navigate to Site Map -> Integration Administration -> EAI queue and download an attachment and open it in your local computer. It is readable.

Changes

 AI's server.xml was edited and set compression="on"
