Symptoms

One of the Siebel server is not coming online without any changes to environment

Error in enterprise log
ServerLog    ProcessExit    1    004d08d9642969cb:0    2023-04-04 06:55:39    SvrTaskPersist     9972     SBL-OSD-02011   Process 9972 exited with error - Process exited because of a segment violation (SIGSEGV)

Error testing tnsping <net service name>
ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error

where <net service name> is TNS alias name found in tnsnames.ora file under $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin directory


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Environment was running fine.
2. No changes made to the environment.
3. Suddenly, the siebel server is not coming online.
