Symptoms

An outbound REST call produces a valid json request in restoutbound.log but no response is received from the external system.

In restoutbound.log :

A response message is expected in RESTOutboundBusvc.makeHTTPCall : response from outbound call


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Use the sample code in New DocumentOutbound REST Call Produces an Empty Json Message : {} (Doc ID 2949709.1) to invoke an outbound REST service.
2. Confirm in restoutbound that a valid json request was build. e.g converted JSON : {"values":(....)
3. Confirm in restoutound that an empty response is seen from the external system
