SSSE ADDRESS PARSER (ESCRIPT) is not correctly split into Street Address1 and Street Address 2, Post Modifying Contact & perform Synch (Doc ID 2951038.1)

Last updated on APRIL 10, 2024

Applies to:

Siebel Server Sync - Microsoft Exchange Server - Version 23.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After synchronizing a contact having Street Address 1 and Street Address 2, then,  updating this contact on Outlook  and synchronizing again,  it was noticed that addresses are not getting split, and the application inserts a new address to this contact on the Siebel side as shown in the screenshot below:

Step to reproduce the issue:

1. Login into Siebel app.
2. Go to Contact.
3. Create or edit an existing contact by adding an address that has Address Line 1 and Address Line 2.
4. Go to Menu > Add to Sync List.
5. Sync.
6. Go to Outlook and confirm that the address was added to this contact.
7. If yes, then update this contact by adding an extra letter in the name or last name on Outlook and saving it.
8. Sync
9. When checking the contact on the Siebel application, the addresses were not split and a new address was inserted into this contact as shown above.

NOTE: When syncing the contact with multiple addresses between Siebel and Outlook the Business Service "SSSE Address Parser (eScript)" should combine the addresses when synced to Outlook or split the addresses when synced to Siebel.

Business Service Query Access:
The Siebel database and Microsoft Exchange differ in how they store addresses. This parameter specifies the name of the script that is used to combine two Siebel address field values when transmitting address data to Microsoft Exchange and split one Microsoft Exchange address field value into two values when transmitting address data to the Siebel database. The value for this parameter, SSSE Address Parser (eScript), is set automatically during installation.
