Last updated on JANUARY 26, 2024

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After setting environment variable SEBL_CFG_FILE_CACHE_SHORT_NAME to Y as per document 2034850.1, it was noticed that clear cache does not work when product name is changed.

Issue was reproduced using the following steps:

1.Set environment variable SEBL_CFG_FILE_CACHE_SHORT_NAME to Y and restart the machine to take effect.

2. Login to Siebel application and navigate to Administration Product -> Product Definitions.

3. Create a customizable product named "PROD1" and release it.

4. Navigate to Sales orders and create a sales order

5. Create a line item and add the product to the order.

6. Customize it and check where configurator displays the product name.

7. Check that in 'C:\Siebel\fs\ISS_OBrkCache\CfgObjBroker\ISS_PROD_DEF\ENU" a file was created for this product. Name of the file contains the product id and not product name (this is expected effect of setting SEBL_CFG_FILE_CACHE_SHORT_NAME is set to Y).

8. Navigate to Administration Product -> Product Definitions and change the product name to 'PROD1_NEW' , then invoke Refresh Product Cache.

9. Navigate to Sales orders and create a sales order

10. Add the product to the order and customize it. Note that configurator displays old name of the product.
