Siebel CRM - Version 22.12 to 24.6 [Release V17]Information in this document applies to any platform.
This may affect any Application Interface (AI) server running on any OS platform if mixed with an AI server running on AIX OS
Symptoms
Two new Linux AI Servers were added to the existing Siebel Enterprise in substitution of two AIX AI servers, no issue was found when the first linux server was added nor when the second linux server was added later on.
However, a few days later a huge number of anonymous user sessions were created leading to production outage.
The issue was mitigated by shutting down the AI server that was originating the requests.
The unexpected behavior was not isolated to the newly added AI servers, but was affecting existing AIX AI servers too.
Errors can be found in the CommonLogger.log file located under applicationcontainer_external/logs directory as follows:
Steps
1. Add Linux AI servers to existing Siebel Enterprise running on AIX AI servers
