This document was previously published as Siebel Technical Note 618.
This Technical Note describes how to improve performance of the Siebel Marketing Server when using the Teradata database or its ODBC driver.
Sample DDL for creating Marketing cache tables and saved result set tables is provided that improves array inserts into the Teradata database and its ODBC driver.
This document also outlines the steps required to enable caching for a Target Level along with recommendations on parameter settings that optimize array inserts into the Teradata database and its ODBC driver. To implement these recommendations you must be on Siebel Business Analytics version 126.96.36.199 or higher (Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition, OBIEE).
This document also describes the proper settings to ensure that the Siebel Analytics (OBIEE) Server pushes sorts to the back-end Teradata database. This results in increased performance.
For information on supported versions of Teradata refer to Siebel System Requirements and Supported Platforms for Siebel Analytics Platform, version 7.8.2 (or higher, OBIEE) > Platform Requirements for Siebel Analytics > Supported Data Sources > Supported Databases > Siebel Business Analytics Platform, available on SupportWeb. The recommended version of the NCR Teradata ODBC is 188.8.131.52, and is the required version when connecting to a Teradata database on the HP-UX operating system. Teradata ODBC 3.4 or higher is not supported on any platform.
Bug 5535754 has been logged as a documentation enhancement request to list supported versions of the NCR Teradata ODBC driver. (this was added to newer versions of this Guide)
