Symptoms

We are trying to install multiple instances of Siebel 7.7.2 on one Windows 2003 server. We are only able to run one instance at a time, although we can start two instances of Siebel Server. Only one instance is able to be connected using the thin client.

There is an error as shown below for the second instance upon startup in SRBroker log:

GenericLog    GenericError    1    0    2004-09-23 15:41:14    (scbcomp.cpp (158) err=7100016 sys=0)
SBL-SCB-00016: Inherited socket (0) is invalid. The SCBroker listening port may already be in use by another process.

It appears that the SCBroker port is used by the first instance upon startup. Both instances work when starting one instance at a time.

How can we change the port connection for SRBroker?
