Symptoms
1) Proposal generation returns strange errors like "Error occurred in opening document(SBL-EDC-00184) *** [Microsoft Word Basic OLE Automation]
FileOpen: Word could not create the work file. Check the temp environment variable.
(SBL-EDC-00162)".
Reinstalling Document Server will only temporarily resolve issue. Currently Document Server runs in foreground which seems to be a workaround.
2) Another symptom is performance issue. For example, the same operation to generate the proposal takes approximately 20 seconds on one environment, but 40 seconds on the other environment with similar configurations.
Here are the observation.
2-1) Excerpt of DocServer log on the test environment. (fast)
The gap between the lines are 8 seconds.
