Symptoms

We have implemented Siebel in our environment. We are running 2 web servers, 1 gateway, 2 resonate load balanced Application server, 1 report server and 1 oracle DB server.

All servers are on AIX 5.1 with patch level 5.

Recently we have some crashing issue with the OM and found out that it is due to some memory limitation. During our investigation we noticed that only one OM process is heavily utilized with the rest are deem normal. To prevent such crash, our TAM has suggested using the recycle factor parameter which is available for Siebel Application Server.

We have configured our Min MT server to be 5 and Max MT Server is 10 and Max Task is 1000 and we have about 400 users using the system in the day.

We could need some advice as to how to go about setting up the Recycle Factor and what is the recommended value based on the above settings.
