Symptoms

Customer reported the following:

We are getting the following error when tried to install Siebel DB.

If you have received this software in error, please notify Siebel Systems
immediately at (650) 295-5000.

Can not access file /siebel1/dbsrvr/common/sqlgen.usg
Generating SQL files
Can't open /tmp/regss2200000:1679133.pid.
Cannot initialze registry server connection data.
Error Generating SQL files. Please refer to sqlgen.log under the log directory for more details

It appears there are files missing for some reason. Please see attached file for configuration values and error message.

The sqlgen.usg file in the common directory is not there.

The log directory (.../log/install ) does not exist.

The sqlgen.log cannot be found in that directory because it does not exist.

Here is the server's disk space info for your reference.
