HTTP Status Code (Doc ID 514118.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 19, 2022

Applies to:

Siebel System Software - Version 7.8.1.1 [19044] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

We have an existing interface where the TIBCO middleware sends an XML message through HTTP post by calling Siebel workflow process. At the 'End' step, Siebel workflow process passes the <Value> = [&Error Message]. On Successful processing, TIBCO would receive an HTTP status code of 200 OK message.

We have upgraded the Siebel from 7.8.1.1 SIA [19044] ENU(*) to 7.8.2.3 SIA (19221)ENU. In the regression testing we have discovered that the TIBCO is now sometimes receiving HTTP status code of 204 'No Content' Message. As a result, TIBCO is stopping sending further messages thinking that an error occurred at Siebel end. The exact message Siebel is passing on is –

HTTP/1.1 204 No Content

        <statusCode>204</statusCode>

We are wondering why Siebel is sending this new HTTP status code of 204. Your reply is highly appreciated.
thanking you in advance
