I have met an issue while using the applet layout editor in conjunction with grid layout web templates. Unless you create the applet using the wizard, when you edit a grid layout template for the first time and no control is mapped inside the grid layout, then the placeholder for the grid doesn't show and you can't add a control to it. NB: I found that when adding first a control to any placeholder that will accept it the grid will show, although not at its expected size. To summarize, would it be possible for the grid to display even if it's empty?
In the same way, if you create first an applet with template "Applet Form 4 Column (Base)" for example then change the template directly on the Applet Web Template record to a grid layout e.g. "Applet Form Grid Layout" when editing again it won't work. If you use the Change Template button in the layout editor though, it will work. If it is not supposed to be changed from there, maybe there should be a warning or maybe it should be read-only? Or whatever conversion occurs should also occur?
