Need to add a new field to the Internal Product BC. Need a field where it can store formatted text. By formatted, need to be able to have carriage returns and tabs saved.

The questions:

1. The KB and bookshelf mention that developers can change the length of "Extension" type columns, but not any standard "Base" table columns. The KB also mentions that the _X tables (S_PROD_INT_X) are considered base tables. So, can I or can I not change the length of say, ATTRIB_01 on the table S_PROD_INT_X which has a type of "Extensions" and a Physical Type of "VARCHAR" from a length of 100 to a length of 2000?

2. If cannot change the length of the _X extension table Extension columns, it it better off adding an addition column to S_PROD_INT or add it to S_PROD_INT_X or need to create an additional extension's table, CS_PROD_INT_X, to create the column?

3. Will Carriage Returns and tabs be kept intact in the VARCHAR columns when the user's enter them through the interface?
