Primary Field Does Not Show The Set Value

we noticed that the following is standard Siebel behaviour. However, we are wondering if there is a nicer way.
We have two fields: one MVG and another one displaying only Primary of that MVG. For example, for the MVG Solution/ISV there is an additional field on our applets called 'Primary ISV' that displays only the current primary value from that MVG.
Same is true for the MVG Sales Team and the field Primary Sales Rep.
If you change the primary in the MVG, the joined primary field is not automatically updated. However, if you re-query/refresh the opportunity, you will see that the primary field is actually updated correctly, but just not refreshed.
Is there an elegant way to immediately see the changes?
