SIEBNS.DAT file gets CORRUPT (Doc ID 527445.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 14, 2019

Applies to:

Siebel System Software - Version SIA [16168] to [16285] [Release V7]
IBM AIX on POWER Systems (64-bit)

When we change some parameters in the Siebel Server Administration and restart Enterprise or Siebel Server, the siebns.dat file gets corrupt and therefore, Siebel Server won't start any more.
That behaviour happens often, but not always. Two examples:
1. We installed one additional Siebel Server on a W2K server, pointing to an existing gateway and enterprise on AIX. Everything works as it should. When we deinstalled the Siebel Server on the W2K (with the deinstalltion program), the siebns.dat file gets corrupt after restarting the enterprise.
2. We tryed to disable server components. After restart Siebel Server, the siebns.dat file is corrupt.
I attach the corrupt siebns.dat file in this service request. Also, please note, that Solution Support Engineering investigated that isssue and suggested to open that service request.
Thank you.
