Read Only View not working correctly, the Buttons are still Active? (Doc ID 567255.1)

Symptoms

The  customer wanted to have a read only version of their Siebel Application available.

He set up new responsibilities where every view is marked as read only.  Then he ensured that the users in this "read only" Siebel application only had these "read only" responsibilities. 

The expected behavior is that the views should be read only and allow no inserts or updates to the data. 

The unexpected behavior was that the buttons on these views were active and could be used to enter and update data.

This reported behavior was initially raised as a bug 10484437.

10484437 - CUSTOM BUTTONS SHOULD BE DISABLED IN READ ONLY VIEWS. 

After investigating this behavior, Siebel confirmed that this behavior is expected and it is not a bug.  The vanilla and custom buttons on a view that execute specialized methods are expected to  be active when a view is read only due to the current user's responsibilities and the read only flag.

Changes

The Application Administration changes that cause this unexpected behavior is to use the Responsibility View Read Only flag to make a view read only.  The Siebel Administrator expects this to make the entire view including the buttons read only.
