Connection Pooling not working as expected (Doc ID 758167.1)

Symptoms


The environment had 4 application servers running FINSObjMgr_sso and the following setting for the OM component:
Min/MaxMTS=15
MaxTasks=1500
Min/MaxShareDbCon=300
MinTrxDBCon=10

With the above, it is expected to have no more then 1900 DB connections:
4 * 300 = 1200 Share db connections for primary login.
15 * 4 * 10 = 600 Specialized EAI shared db connections
Other components : 100

Regardless of the above, for 3000 users, they had 3500 db connections and it seamed like connection pooling was not working. The OM logs showed as if connection pooling worked as expected (connections were reused from the pool).
