Symptoms

We ran some alignment rules using "TM Account" (parent) assigned object and Affiliate Object (Contact) and Affiliate Object (Opportunity) , but we are getting unexpected results. We need to confirm if this is Siebel expected behavior or a product defect.

For example, the TM Alignment Rule has Geography - Country = "Andorra" for "TM Account" with Affiliate Object set to "Contact". Position Rule tab has two sales rep positions to add. Under the Conditions tab, we have a global condition of "TM Account", Account Type = Account. Expected result: 2 accounts, one has 3 contacts and the other has 1 contact.

Here is what we set up for Alignment Rule and Condition:

- Georgraphy, 2 records:

Geo Type: Country
Geo Value: Andorra
Territory #: GETerr1
Territory Name: GE Territory 1
Assignment Object: Account
Affilation Object: Contact
Action: Add

Geo Type: Country
Geo Value: Andorra
Territory #: GETerr1
Territory Name: GE Territory 1
Assignment Object: Account
Affilation Object: Opportunity
Action: Add

- Condition, 1 record:

Sequence Object Attribute Operator Value And/Or
0 TM Account Account Type = Company AND

After the Alignment has completed successfully, the Results tab for Account showed 2 account which have addresses meeting the criteria and the Contacts tab showed 2 contacts. One contact belongs to the account with Account Type = Account and this is expected. However, the other contact belong to another account which has Account Type = Customer and has one of the address associated with country = Andorra. This is not our expected result. The global condition Account Type = Account for TM Account should filter this record out, but it didn't.

How can we apply the condition of parent assigned object to its affiliate object? Applying same TM Account conditions to its affiliate object (contact or opportunity)?

Thanks.
