Catalog Search and Favorites Views do not use Access Groups for Product Visibility (Doc ID 839441.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 14, 2021

Applies to:

Siebel Quote and Order Capture - Version 8.1.1 [21112] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Product Catalogs, where access control is implemented via Access Group works fine when creating a new Quote\Order and browsing Product Catalogs starting from "Quote-Browse Catalog View"/ "Sales Order-Browse Catalog View".

The products a user has access to are those (and only those) that their access group is associated to.

However, if a user searches for a product via "Attribute Search" feature ("Quote-Search Catalog View" / "Sales Order-Search Catalog View"), or via Favorites or via Quick-Add the access control DOES NOT apply.

As a consequence, the users will be able to see products that they should see i.e. users can see products within catalogs and categories that their Access Group is not associated to.
