When master applet in attachment view has an auto toggle, adding attachments fails (Doc ID 850171.1)

Symptoms

Scenario:

In view

Service Request detail view w/attachments,

applet

Service Request Detail Applet

was changed to include an applet toggle:

Applet Toggle: Service Request NC Detail Applet

Applet: Service Request NC Detail Applet
Auto Toggle Field: SR Type INT
Auto Toggle Value: Non Conformity

Also, dynamic drilldowns were configured in applets

Service Request List Applet

and

Service Request List Applet (Account)

as follows:

Drilldown object "Original":

Hyperlink Field: SR Number
Dynamic Drilldown Destination: Incident
Destination Drilldown Object: Incident
Field: SR Type INT
Value: Incident
View: Service Request Detail View

Issue:

With this configuration in place, after adding attachments by either -

submitting the new record appears to not setting the required field values (such as for Attachment Name / ActivityFileName field) and thus causes an error message:

SBL-DAT-00498: 'Attachment Name' is a required field.

This started happening after adding the toggle applet configuration.

The issue only happens when the attachment view was entered through a dynamic drilldown.

The issue happens irrespective of the toggle state.

Consequences:

Users cannot use the dynamic drilldowns to enter the attachment view. They have to use other means of navigation in order to be able to add attachments.

Expected behavior:

Users should be able to add attachments independent of the way they enter the attachment view.

What works:

Using other drilldowns (such as from the home page) or directly navigating to the attachments view does not cause the issue.
