Siebel 8 has an expected change in formatting for the Required "Red Asterisk" image in Form Applets that is different that the Siebel 7 layout.
Siebel 7

* Last Name: Field

* Last Name: Smith

Siebel 8

Last Name:* field

Last Name:* Smith

Note, that the Red Asterisk for required Fields is only automatically generated for Required fields that are determined by the Business Component field property Required.  If a Field is dynamically determined to be required by the Field level User Property "Required", the Red Asterisk is not automatically displayed. This is the expected behavior.

Developers have used the workaround of putting the Red Asterisk html code in the Field Label control to display the Red Asterisk for "Field Level User Property Required" fields but the new Siebel 8 formatting require a change for that workaround.

The Red Asterisk, Required icon, display was changed with Siebel 8.
