Issue With Browser Scripts Added to Handle Siebel Session Close With IE X Window (Doc ID 976002.1)

Last updated on JULY 11, 2017

Applies to:

Siebel Tools - Version 8.0.0.5 SIA [20420] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

As per Document ID 489982.1 below scripts were implemented into browser scripts to do a proper logout from the Siebel application in case user uses IE 'X' icon to close the application. While testing it was found that if the user uses a proper File - Logout in the Siebel menu then Siebel does not actually logout but hangs the session. After sometime if user clicks anywhere in the screen error message "Error connecting to the server." is generated.

This is happening in our thin client. When attempted from dedicated client, then the normal File - Logout takes little bit of time but seems to do a proper logout.

setTimeout("MyOnLoad()", 5000);

function MyOnLoad()
{
if(theApplication() == null)
setTimeout("MyOnLoad()", 1000);
else
{
top.application = theApplication();
top.document.body.onbeforeunload = no_sso_unload;
}
}

function no_sso_unload()
{
top.application.InvokeMethod("Logoff");
}
