Last updated on MAY 02, 2024

Applies to:

Solstice DiskSuite Software - Version 4.2.1 to 4.2.1 [Release 4.0]
Solaris Cluster - Version 3.0 to 4.3 [Release 3.0 to 4.3]
Sun Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) - Version 11.9.0 to 11.11 [Release 11.0]
Oracle Solaris on x86-64 (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)

Symptoms

In a Solaris Cluster environment, when Solaris Volume Manager (SVM) software is used, one node may not be able to import a disk set. This will prevent the cluster from failing over properly.

By way of example consider a two node cluster with nodes: node1 and node2 and the disk set ora-set.

On node1:

Until node2 cannot take ownership of the set, cluster failover will not work properly.
