TTYMON process on v240 consumes excessive cpu time. (Doc ID 1002446.1)

Symptoms

Installed Bi-Directional modem on ttyb on Sun Fire[TM] V240.

# pmadm -l
PMTAG PMTYPE SVCTAG FLGS ID <PMSPECIFIC>
zsmon ttymon ttyb u root /dev/term/b b - /usr/bin/login - 57600 ldterm,ttcompat login: - - n #Modem - Bidirectional
Though, modem is not in use its ttymon process is consuming close to 40% cpu time.
# ps -ef | grep ttymon
PID USERNAME THR PRI NICE SIZE RES STATE TIME CPU COMMAND
440 root 1 20 0 1840K 1128K run 3328.4 97.53% ttymon
