Automount error: 'RPC: Program/version mismatch' (Doc ID 1003149.1)

A filesystem cannot be mounted using automounter. In /var/adm/messages, automounter reports the following:

Mar 8 14:26:56 xxxx automountd[4349]: [ID 748625 daemon.error] yyyy server not responding: RPC: Program/version mismatch
